As Director of Outreach & Partnerships at Generation She, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering young women with the skills they need to start their own businesses, Ashwini helped organize the Generation She San Francisco Makeathon on January 25 and has organized multiple events in the Generation She Slack Community.
The Generation She San Francisco Makeathon
Hosted at the Lyft headquarters, the event welcomed over 200 high school girls and spanned two days. The weekend included a keynote by founder of Urban Decay Cosmetics and talks by Puno Puno, Robyn Young and the founders of Health Aid Kombucha. At the event, Ashwini held breakout sessions to facilitate conversations about product vision, market validation and iOS Development. She also mentored and advised students as they worked on pitch decks and judged the final pitch deck competition.
